The title NME sounds like enemy which is subversive as it sounds rebellious which fits in with the genre of the magazine. The main image which is dominated by the women as she could be the lead singer of a band also it is subversive as she is wearing leather clothing which is shown to be the most rebellious clothing. Also the leather adds to the sex appeal of the magazine. The camera angle is looking down on the woman and man who are both lying down. A normal high angle shot gives vulnerability to the subject. But in this magazine it doesn't show them as vulnerable it makes them look superior, as the woman is looking down on the camera.
The strap lines used are non judgemental as it is as if they are promoting the bad in society. But usually in gossip magazines they portray drugs, murder and twisted love as being bad in society.
The Album verdict of the "Kaiser Chiefs F***ed up" also adds to the rebellion theme of the magazine. As expletives are shown to be used by people who rebel against what other people believe.
''My life with Kurt' Ex Manager Speaks'' shows that this months magazine has exclusivity to the Nirvana band and what Kurt was like when he was alive and why he could have killed himself. Also it shows that the magazine is competing with other magazines on the shelf. So if fans of Nirvana are looking on the shelf they will buy this magazine as it has exclusive interview with the ex manager.
